This site is the result of a brief but fruitful collaboration between two student groups: a group of MA students photography of LUCA School of Arts and a group of MA students Cultural Studies of KU Leuven.
The MA students photography participated in a critical practice seminar. After doing some very serious reading work they went on the even more serious adventure of making an exhibition in one week, which resulted in a 3 day running exhibition, curated by artist Lieven Seghers. The other group of MA students, all following the Photography and Visual Culture course of the Cultural Studies program, KU Leuven, took care of the written outcome. They digged into the internet world of “funny” photography, made interviews, and wrote reviews of the exhibition.
This student collaboration took place within the research project Photography Performing Humor, funded by OPAK (LUCA School of Arts) and supervised by Liesbeth Decan and Mieke Bleyen.
